// 19th November 2025 // Apologies, its been a while! Plenty of stuff to update on from the last few months though! Let's go from oldest to newest, with just a few words and pictures...

We sponsored the only professional team in Hainan...the newly formed and mighty Hainan Infinity Coast! They have a great set up down in Haikou and it was a pleasure to go down and meet them all, we wish them all the success in the future.

We attended a number of different events and festivals, working with and meeting with loads of cool creative guys in the process:

- The first ever Shanghai Highland Games

- MOHO Jing'an shopping mall market

- Laowaijie Beer Festival

- Indoor market at Specters club

- Belgian Beer Festival at PAC Jing'an

- Pop up shop at Kommune Tianzifang

Time is flying by and we are behind where we need to be, but we are working hard to get some cooler weather gear out ASAP!

// 18th August 2025 // It’s been an exciting week for MF. We had our first away day with a trip to Haikou in Hainan. Right now we can’t disclose exactly why, but more should be revealed in the coming week. Hainan is a lush, tropical (formerly) volcanic island (#facts)…the weather’s great, the people are nice and the air is good. We visited the Mission Hills sports complex, which has 10 full golf courses (10, wild!) and at least 15 football pitches, being a base for the Chinese Football Association (CFA), which might be a clue to our reason for being there…

⚠️ Product update! We have our new products (a cap and a tee) in stock and we’re currently shooting them. They’ll be officially on sale in the next few days.

Our Douyin抖音 (Chinese TikTok) account is up and running, we’re looking forward to getting some cool reels on the platform. If you have a 抖音 account, be sure to check it out! @MatterFact obvs.

We’re lining up some events in Shanghai for next month, there are a few things going on as the sweltering summer heat subsides; events, festivals, markets…and you’ll find us at some of them (TBC!). // Sparks //

// 1st July 2025 // Nobody said it was easy, but no one ever said it would be so hard...the words of (the annoying) Chris Martin come to mind as we're in the early stages of starting a clothing brand. We had a great launch day and things have been quite quiet since then despite our efforts. We are in limited spaces and trying not to spend beyond our means...and we know there are tons of things we can do to grow the brand. With no fixed retail space to speak of, events are crucial in this young phase, the first of which is lined up for tonight! We are sponsoring an open mic comedy night, it seems that there will be a full house down at Hoegaarden Breeze in Found158, which is exactly what we need to increase our exposure. Hopefully this can be the start of a fruitful relationship!

⚠️ Product update! We've just launched a sickkk bucket hat for the summer. It's reversible and a real game of two halves...a thing of beauty and brilliance. You can check it out here >>

// 11th June 2025 // it's been a whirlwind couple of weeks or more, with MatterFact's soft launch online followed by our first physical launch event. The latter was held on Sunday, a day after the infamous Shanghai plum rains began...the morning of the event saw an absolute DELUGE, hampering our set up plans a bit! Great team work saw the dream work though and the show went on, and actually turned out to be a great success; the space looked great, DJs Paul & Joeri provided the perfect soundtrack, graffiti artist Jon was a hit with the punters and...plenty of people showed up!

⚠️ Product and first artist collab update! Our first collab dropped during the launch event. It's a link up with Wenzhou-based illustrator Adan (阿丹) , her laughing Buddha design takes pride of place on the back of a limited edition tee. It comes in a quality presentation box along with a stamped and numbered print of the artwork. There are 50pcs available...don't miss out! We are up and running with our first online store (in China)! The platform is weidian (微店) which you can get as a standalone app or as a WeChat mini program. Hopefully we'll figure out some more marketing & selling platforms soon... // Sparks //

// 3rd June 2025 // the MF team are back after a terribly timed few days in Bangkok…now the pressure’s on to get everything ready for the launch event in Shanghai’s Tianzifang this Sunday.

The venue is booked, most of the invites have gone out…the rest just needs to be finalised (don't worry, it will be!).

Expect to find our product including our first artist collab drop, some cool interactive activities in our creative space, games, lucky draws along with a cool soundtrack from a specially curated DJ. Chuar Bar will provide the backdrop, bites and brews.

⚠️ Product update! We’ve just launched our first cap, it’s a nice oatmeal colour, cotton twill. The curve is shortened and slightly pre curved, which makes it look pretty cooler than most. Check it out >

We’ve almost cracked 微店 weidian, so a sales platform in China is incoming! It’s not the easiest to setup and manage but we’re getting there. It’s a similar story for a WeChat subscription account, hopefully it’ll come together in the coming days. // Sparks //

// 27th May 2025 // This might be a bit retro, but we thought a Blog might be a good way to keep everyone posted on what's happening here at MF HQ.

We launched a couple of days ago, it was a bit of a frantic time in the preceding days but we're up and running after many months of planning and hard work! As usual with procuring products there were some (significant) delays which stopped us launching everything on time...on the plus side there are more cool things to come really soon. We have some sweet caps and our first artist collaboration not too far away and looking mint.

Despite being set up as a legit business in China, accessing sales platforms is proving to be a challenge in the country (THIS IS CHINA!!!). Right now, we can manually take orders on Instagram...and that's about it! We're working on 微店 (weidian), a Wechat official account and considering RedNote (小红书）and 抖音（douyin / TikTok). We might have to head down to the touristy hotspots in Shanghai with a box of stock to make ends meet at this rate.

We had our first product photoshoot last weekend, which drew a lot of attention and was good fun. Even better, the shots we got were incredible, doing our first drop of products the justice they deserve.
